B.S., Computer Science, University of Texas at El Paso
Growing up, I spent a lot of time building computers with my dad. The internet was fairly new and I was intrigued, so I started tinkering with coding. The first site I built was an unofficial fan site for the UTEP Men’s Basketball team. At a time when most schools didn’t have a website to post scores, my site gave UTEP fans around the country a way to find out scores for the most recent games. After building that first site, I was hooked.
I completed a computer science degree and then briefly worked for a local web development agency before deciding I wanted to start my own agency. Taking after my parents and grandparents, all of whom owned their own businesses, I started Impulse Development.
The first Impulse Development office was actually shared with another agency, Viva Creative Group, owned by Armando Alvarez. After a few years of working side by side and referring clients to each other, we merged our businesses into Viva + Impulse Creative Co. As our team grew and our list of services expanded to include digital advertising and content development, we felt it was time to rebrand our agency. Hello Amigo is the result of that growth.
In my spare time, I can be found working my way through a new recipe and watching ESPN. I’m a diehard Lakers fan and occasional, fair-weather Red Sox fan.
