Our step-by-step process ensures we create identities that look amazing and, equally important, work well for the brands they represent.


GATHER INSIGHT
All identity projects start with a thorough research and exploration phase. We kick off the project by meeting with the client to discuss their organization, mission, industry, competitors, and target audience. To help the client prepare for the meeting, we ask them to complete a detailed questionnaire. During the meeting, we dive into the questionnaire responses to better understand the nuances of the brand, organization operations, how the new identity will be used, and visual preferences for the new identity.

EXPLORE IDEAS
Using the insights we gained from the kickoff meeting, we begin exploring concepts that incorporate key ideas and elements of the brand. This concept exploration may include symbols related to the client’s industry, visuals associated with their mission, stylized initials, or a combination of any of those. Humans tend to gravitate toward what is familiar, but our goal is to help our client stand out. So we look for ways to push boundaries and encourage the client to consider concepts that test their comfort zone.

PRESENT THE POSSIBILITIES
We strive to present the client with at least three to four strong concepts. When presenting the identity design concepts, we share the reasoning behind the design and point out the symbols or ideas that may be incorporated in the design. The concepts are mocked up on signage, business cards, apparel, or any other applicable medium to help the client visualize how the new identity will function in real life. We recommend the client spends time reviewing the concepts before making a decision on which identity they’d like to proceed with.

REVEAL THE BRAND
Occasionally clients ask for design tweaks or to explore other color options, which we are happy to do. Once a design is selected and the final identity is approved, we prepare a complete identity package for the client. This includes the identity in a variety of formats for web and print use, a style guide with clear usage guidelines for internal teams and vendors, font usage, color formulas, and stationery design. The client will have everything they need to create branded assets and plan a memorable launch for the new brand.


PROVIDE SUPPORT
Throughout the course of the identity design project, our dedicated account manager stays in contact with the client to provide updates on progress, coordinate meetings, and request feedback. Even after the identity is finalized, we’re still available to answer questions or offer assistance.
