We value each and every one of our clients and we like to express our gratitude at the end of each year. What a better way to say “we appreciate you” than a unique holiday gift put together by our team? This is always a fun project as we get to work together to showcase our creativity and love for El Paso. We put a lot of thought into each of our holiday gifts so we like to start early. We begin meeting to discuss gift ideas as early as April. We continue to meet and discuss until we have a concept we all love. Next, we collect quotes for printing and production to determine the best mix of items and quantities that align with our budget. Then, we flesh out any content and design all necessary elements for the gifts. Before sending to print, the team takes the time to review each item. Because we’re proud of the work we do, we share our designs on social media. Finally, we mail out our gifts in style in custom Hello Amigo mailers with a note from our team tucked inside. 2018: Back to our creative roots
Handmade was the name of the game this year. We traded our computers for printmaking supplies for this special set of gifts. Anything that was not hand-printed was made in partnership with El Paso-based vendors, keeping things homegrown. This gift set included an El Paso Forever print, screen-printed goodie bags, a relief-printed holiday card, an enamel mug and a bag of coffee from local restaurant, Savage Goods. As a special treat, Jim Ward, frontman of the band Sparta, came by our office and signed the El Paso Forever prints for our clients.
2019: Creativity in a bag
This year, we came up with gifts to help our clients spark their creativity. What’s the first step in the creative process? You guessed it—having a cup of coffee! Our team went out to Picacho Coffee Roasters in Las Cruces, NM to taste and select the perfect coffee blend to include in this gift set. Once we found one that we loved, we packaged the coffee in custom Hello Amigo canisters. After coffee, it’s time to put pen to paper. We designed some Hello Amigo-branded scout books to hold notes, ideas and doodles. We know creativity doesn’t always come easy, so we included pencils with phrases on them to provide a little encouragement along the way. To liven up our clients’ workspaces, we included some desert postcards and stickers that featured some El Paso landmarks and wildlife. To hold all of these creative tools, we screen printed a custom-designed tote bag.
2020: Desert Dreamin’
This year’s gifts were all about Desert days. We sent out greeting cards, postcards and envelopes with catchy phrases that were consistent with our brand’s tone of voice. Handmade illustrations of desert animals ornamented the covers of these cards and fronts of the envelopes. Paired with vibrant colors and spikey textures, these cards were straight out of the Chihuahuan desert.
2021: El Paso Game Night
Our most recent holiday project was a game night gift set complete with a deck of playing cards, trivia cards, and a puzzle - all El Paso-themed, of course. Our deck of playing cards is consistent with our brand colors and the cards incorporate elements from the El Paso landscape like the yucca and Franklin Mountains. Covering topics from history to famous people, the El Paso trivia cards are sure to teach everyone, from those new to the city to the most die-hard El Pasoans, a thing or two about the Sun City. For the puzzle lover, our fun El Paso puzzle was designed with those who love a challenge in mind. The design showcases some iconic El Paso buildings, desert animals, and of course, the star on the mountain.
